Calcutta University extended the affiliation for Honours and General degree courses in Computer Science at Jogesh Chandra College from the academic Session 2001-2002. The first batch passed in both the Honours and General examinations at the university level with fairly satisfactory results. The department can boast of good laboratory with A.C. facility, with 27 computers in an area of around 400 sq. ft. All the computers are networked together, backed with Broadband Internet Service. The department also has a storeroom with an area of around 60 sq. ft. The department has printers, scanner and necessary multimedia kits used for various purposes.

Academic Activities

A National Level Seminar was conducted jointly by Computer Science Department and Mathematics Department and one journal has been published as "Quantum Information and Computer".

Most of Students working at TCS, CTS, Wipro, IBM etc.
Some of the Students working as Lecturer, School Teacher etc,
3rd year students has been selected for TCS,Wipro previous year.

Students of Computer Science department got highest Marks among all Science departments in the college for the last 3 years. Average 50% of total students getting 1st class.
