The Department of Electronics was established in 2001 to run the General Course under the aegis of Calcutta University. Later on 2003, the Calcutta University extended the affiliation for Honours course also. At present the intake capacity for Honours course is 33. The Department is proud enough for having an excellent laboratory equipped with CROs, Function Generators, Microprocessors &many more.

Dr. Joydip Sengupta has been awarded a Major Research project by Department of Science and Technology under Fast Track Scheme for Young Scientist-Physical Science. Total Cost of the project: Rs 14,64,000/-. The Department of Electronics organized a lecture titled -Introduction to GNSS Radio Occultation and Reflection Remote Sensing by Dr. Jan-Peter Weiss, Manager of the COSMIC Data Analysis and Archive Center (CDAAC) at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado, USA on 20 December 2019.

Academic Activities

We try our best for making education relevant to real life situations to prevent the alienation of the educated from the society. We also try to develop a responsibility towards society among students through a wider exposure to real life situation. To enhance student’s practical knowledge as well as to appreciate the power of modern communication system they visited Communication Wing, Metro Bhavan, Kolkata on 30/07/2016. They also visited BIRLA INDUSTRIAL and TECHNOLOGICAL MUSEUM, Kolkata on 04/01/2017.

To introduce P.G. Course in Electronics. To conduct workshops in neighbouring schools to spread awareness of the scope of the subject. To organize national and international seminars in Electronics. Collaborating with institutions with allied interests. Sharing best practices of Modern teaching with collaborating institutions.
